It is important for kids to see their parents taking an interest in their school and activities. It's also a tremendous way to get to know the school administration and the parents of the kids your kids will be associating with.
There are many volunteer opportunities available throughout the year -- both short term and long term opportunities, as well as things that can be done during the day or the evening depending on your work schedule.
